Steam News announces the release Perpetual Testing Initiative, the promised free update for Portal 2 that adds new content and a level editor to Valve's puzzle/platformer sequel. Here's word: The new free Portal 2 update titled "Perpetual Testing Initiative" is now available on Steam!
The "Perpetual Testing Initiative" allows players to easily create, share, and play Portal 2 puzzles. The Initiative comes with a simplified puzzle maker that allows that creation of mind-bending puzzles without ever leaving the game.
The puzzle maker can directly publish maps to the Steam Workshop where users can browse, vote on, and select to play them. Selected puzzles will automatically be downloaded and installed inside Portal 2.

Holy Shit Valve. Just holy shit. EA has a very different approach with Origin, which involves charging more for games than any other place on the planet. For instance, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is £26.99 on Steam - £39.99 on Origin. Or Batman: Arkham City, which is £19.99 - £24.99 on Origin. And all their new high profile releases are either £40/$65 or £45/$73.
EA is trying to increase the price of gaming, while Valve is doing the opposite. And Valve offers the better service. Bizarre. Absolutely bizarre. It is any wonder that EA was voted the worse company in America? I think not. |
