The Arma 2 Website announces that on Friday they will launch a "play and contribute' beta for Carrier Command: Gaea Mission, their upcoming science fiction game. They also announce the game's release is delayed to September of this year (it has already missed its Q1 2012 release window), saying the delay is "related to the beta." Play and contribute means testers will actually "assist in the game's development process," a throwback to the days when betas were to polish games for release rather than as preorder incentives, but that doesn't mean this beta isn't an incentive as well, as they are initially offering access to those who pre-purchase the game.
