Some details emerged on the GameSpot forums that allegedly reveal specifics about the characters and story in Grand Theft Auto V, the next installment in the open-world action series, said to have been spilled by a disgruntled former employee. The post was deleted, but VG247 notes it can still be found on the Google cache. According to the post, the game will be shown in playable form at E3 this year, and the game is expected in May 2013.

I'm happier playing games like GTA, God of War, MLB The Show, etc on a console sitting on my couch with a controller. PC does shooter and RTS the best, and there is no argument. Other genres? Plenty of arguments as to the ups and downs. But a true PC gamer - which is what you claimed to be - would simply hook up their system to an HDTV and use a wireless X360 controller to play games at 1080p, maxed out. I have a 42" 1080p LED TV hooked up for when I want to chill out and a 30" 1600p monitor for serious gaming. Your argument is utter bullshit. If you don't give a shit about graphical fidelity or you can't afford it then that's fine, but don't claim to be a "PC gamer through and through" and then tell us that sub-720p with low resolution textures and no AA/AF is acceptable simply because your seat is slightly more comfortable.

But I can't be bothered this time around. Graphically the trailer looks incredibly dated - not surprising considering that consoles haven't become magically more powerful in the years since GTAIV - and the story looked pretty generic.

Saints Row: The Third was DX11, as are many of the better multi-platform PC releases - DiRT3, F1 2011, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, BF3, Crysis 2, Batman: Arkham Asylum, etc. If Rockstar can't be bothered adding basic PC technologies then I can't be bothered giving them my money. |
