I didn't get any mileage out of Payday and really regret the purchase. We bought a 4pack but the game has little to no replay value beyond grinding and the FPS stuff was boring to be honest. The game is very poorly paced with long periods of downtime strangely contrasted against console style wave spawns that get downright absurd in the numbers thrown at you. It felt like someones first Source mod with slightly higher production values. Thankfully BF3 came out and was actually good so we got our MP game for the next year or so.
Orcs Must Die on the other hand was the best $15 I spent since Terraria. Fair replay value and great gameplay, I just love the shit out of that game. I tried Dungeon Defenders but it feels so clunky after playing OMD that I can't get into it. Orcs Must Die is the perfect marriage of FPS style play with tower defense, it's great having both the macro and micro be very well implemented and fun. |
