Out of the Blue

Early this morning Daylight Saving Time ended around these parts. My story on this is always the same: Love the extra hour for today, and hate standard time for the next six months, as it gets dark depressingly early. Blah.

Hourly Links: Thanks Ant and Mike Martinez and Acleacius.

Women Struggling to Drink Water. Thanks Boing Boing.

I'll never understand why we even have these stupid time trickeries. In todays age all normal time does is increase power usage because it gets darker earlier (and thus colder earlier) which means you have to heat 1 hour more... Why not all settle on summer time for the winter? So bleh, its dark in the morning, but at least it won't be dark untill evening (and not like now, afternoon)

meh - its a wash, either do it on the front end or the back end. I would rather it stay sunnier later, and would even support a 2 hour jump or so to give evening sunlight....
