Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Leaked?

VentureBeat has word that all or part of the PC edition of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is in the hands of pirates after being stolen from a warehouse. The explanation of what was taken is a little vague: "Evidently, pirated discs began to spread quickly after an employee at a shipping warehouse (run by a huge shipping company) in Fresno, Calif., stole one disc. It’s not clear how many full copies spread this way, as the disc that was stolen was apparently Disc 2 of a two-disk set for the PC. Security may have been too tight for the thief to steal the other disc."

All these pirates are doing is killing the pc gaming market, its about time that something was done about it. Ubisoft will stop making pc games and when all the big corps do so, then ppl will give a shit and it be too late. Out of curiosity, what exactly is being done about it? Newer and more convoluted DRM schemes that inevitably get cracked anyway and end up being a burden only to legitimate customers? That's nothing new. If publishers want to sell more PC games, they need to focus on making better PC games. That means ensuring stable, polished releases that include features that have been standard in PC games for over 10 years. It also means recognizing the differences between a TV vs a monitor and a gamepad vs M/KB. And not delaying PC ports for months after the console releases. Do these things and you will sell more PC games. Forcing players to enter lengthy serial numbers, activate their games online or remain online while playing is not going to result in more sales.
