Dead Island DLC Waits for Patches

Plans to release DLC for Dead Island are on the back-burner for the moment until Techland can complete patching the various editions of the zombie game "Right now the Dead Island development team's priority is working on fixes and updates across all platforms so that we can take care of all of the fans who have been so supportive of our game," a spokesperson told Kotaku. "There is some awesome DLC content planned for Dead Island, but first we have to put all our focus on the base game experience." One patch for the Windows edition was released the day the game shipped, and this this tweet indicates a patch for the Xbox 360 version is also now available. As noted on MTV Multiplayer, this tweet mentions patch plans as well: "Updates for PS3 and PC users are also coming - info will be posted as soon as it's available."

You're not playing Dead Island because of player shadows and player animations?

NPC animations are fine, in fact they are well done, same with facial animations. But the multiplayer part of the game has YOU looking at 3 other player characters the body animations are horrible. Why is this a issue to me? Because one of my FAVORITE things to see in a FPS game is my own shadow. Like your body in Jurassic Park Trespasser, FEAR etc, to me it really is something very simple that puts you into the 'body' of the character your playing. So when I see I have a shadow, and feet (bonus points for that) I notice that I have a hole in my shadow between my neck and torso. And if you ever notice while holding weapons your body has some sort of issues with the shoulders and weapons.

It just amazes me with how good of a game it is for me, how little things like this weren't addressed/fixed before the game was launched.
