EA Not Planning Origin Exclusives

Eurogamer has quotes from Electronic Arts European Senior Vice President Jens Uwe Intat about EA's Origin service that seek to allay fears that upcoming EA titles may end up being Origin exclusives. "When we were talking about it's best for the consumer that competition is a good thing, for the consumer also choice is a good thing," Intat told them. "Competition and choice go hand in hand. So the fact we will only distribute our own games on our own platform, I don't see that."

They already said they aren't using Origin for patching and that you don't need to register it with Origin. The game's login and patching systems were built long before Origin was around.
