Trendy Entertainment announces an October 19 Windows and Xbox LIVE Arcade release date for Dungeon Defenders, their cross-platform online tower defense RPG, saying the release date for the PlayStation Network edition will be revealed "soon." They offer a little more on the ability of players on the Windows, PlayStation 3, iOS, and Android editions to join the same game: "Dungeon Defender’s game experience has been modified to best suit each individual platform, making the game just as fun to play on a portable touch screen as it is with a mouse and keyboard or Dual Shock 3 controller." The Xbox 360 edition is not included in this equation presumably because Microsoft is the "platform holder" Gabe Newell recently mentioned as not embracing this concept. Trendy says GameSpy Technology will joint them in discussing this cross-platform support on Wednesday at PAX Dev preceding this weekend's PAX Prime. Here's a new trailer from the game showing off the its Squire unit.
