Aliens is what sealed my interest to the scifi and horror world when I watched the VHS at the age of six and I feel as though I owe the franchise something in return for doing so. Watching Bishop get ripped a part through the eyes of a child was a pretty frightening experience but was definitely worth it in the long run at the cost of a few sleepless nights.
Another benefit to this is that it may either inspire or bring back the same level of interest and thought which Ridley used to create the first movie. Even with the loss of Dan O'Bannon, I feel confident that this won't flop especially by prequel standards. I really do hope they opt for the Giger approach rather then CGI though. What about James Cameron for ALIENS (not ALIEN)? |
