Let's perform our own little study.
Too much TV: Rick of obesity, near-sightedness, shortened attention span...some would say violent tendancies from seeing umpteen million murders. (I wouldn't but some would.)
Texting and Facebook: All of the above, most of them magnified significantly, plus throw in horrific automobile accidents and posting stupid amounts of information where every creep on the interwebs can find it (and, by extension, the kid).
My 30 second study shows that you should put the kid on an exercise bike in front of the TV, queue up your Firefly collection, give him some glasses, and drop his iPhone in the blender...
