StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty sold more than a million copies in 24 hours and 1.5 million copies over the first 48 hours of availability, announces Blizzard. They say this makes the real-time strategy sequel the biggest PC game launch of the year, and that this sets a record "for fastest-selling strategy game of all time."

Guys, I really suck when it comes to RTS. But even I have a blast playing the campaign on "normal" difficulty. I had to slow the game speed down starting with the 5th mission (yeah, I know, I know, but otherwise I'd lose - unlike the AI I can't command every single separate unit simultaneously, and did I mention that I suck when it comes to RTS?), but even if it takes me hours to win some of the missions, it's great. Absolutely great. Wonderful cutscenes, good story (told even within the missions), very clever change of mission of styles, and so on. I've just started playing the most likely final Protoss mission. Why is it that everybody keeps saying "it's a third of the game, you only play the terrans"? It's wrong! There's about as many missions as in the first Starcraft, I got to play the terrans and the protoss up to now, and this game is polished, polished, AND polished. Except for this hell of a bug that fried some people's gfx cards - Blizzard, how came you didn't see that one during the beta?! Nevertheless, this is a great game, no matter what the haters say. If you play five PC games this year, Starcraft 2 should be one of them. And no, I'm not getting paid to write this. |

| Consoles? I owned two: a Pong clone and an Atari 2600. And that's it. |
