Today is the solstice, marking the first day of winter in the northern hemisphere. I'm never fond of early sundowns, so here's looking forward to the daylight portion of the day gradually growing longer again.
R.I.P.: Brittany Murphy Dies. Thanks Wolfen.

Abbreviated for brevity...
At 8:00 a.m. on December 20, 2009, the LA Fire Department responded to "a medical request" at the Los Angeles home Murphy and Monjack shared. She apparently collapsed in a bathroom. Firefighters attempted to resuscitate Murphy on the scene, and she was subsequently transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead on arrival at 10:04 a.m. after going into cardiac arrest. Cause of death is yet to be determined, but Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told the Associated Press: "It appears to be natural." There's nothing natural about going into cardiac arrest at such a young age. The police are likely going to look very closely at Simon Monjack. That happens to a lot of people. Natural causes can mean a lot of things. She could have had blood clots or a heart defect, among several other possibilities. My sister died from a blood clot when she was just 35. There was no explanation for it at all. So enjoy each day as it were your last. Happy holidays! |
