Derek Smart's extensive rant on the current state of the game review processes. I tried to find a pull quote to give a sense, but while impassioned, it's not exactly focused like a laser beam.

Reviewers don't give points for potential, they give points for results. Sometimes reviewers get stuck reviewing games in a genre that they do not care for and this can lead to a lower score, but this is more the exception than the rule. Derek is just going to have to come to the realization that there are very few people out there that thinks as much of his work as he does. Maybe he should give Uwe Boll a call, they seem to have a lot in common and would probably become great friends.
