Out of the Blue

Someone asked about the name of the show I saw on D-Day, and since I looked it up for him I thought I'd share it here in case anyone else is interested. It was a special on the Smithsonian Channel (who knew they had a channel?) called Timewatch: D-Day: The True Story of Omaha, and it was a fascinating, if grim, explanation of the way the invasion of Omaha Beach unfolded.

WWII documentaries rock!

Speaking of which, the Valkerie Legacy documentary that comes with the Blu-ray version of Valkerie is really, really good. Normally I don't care much about the extras that come with movies, but this one is worth the price of the disc alone. A similar documentary is on the DVD version, but it's slimmed down to one hour instead of two ...
