German Violent Game Ban?

A report on German website CHIP Online indicates that Germany is considering outlawing all video games that include deadly violence or cruelty. Germany is already pretty strict about such games, but this indicates a vote will take place over the coming weeks or months to crack down on violent games even further. Thanks Gamezine.co.uk.

I don't live in Germany, so obviously CJ can correct me, but I get the impression that the national shame of Germany will be drying up quickly. The lawmakers right now grew up when it was at its peak. Rightfully. But their generation will be passing the reigns soon.

I'd be surprised if the children of the 70s and 80s feel as much that way. I think, in most of the rest of the world, the children from that time period see Germany as friends, not enemies. As makers of superior automobiles and women that become men when they hit their mid 40 (haha! Yes, a stereotype, but you can always pick out a few older married German women in an airport because they look suspiciously like their husbands. No offense meant, just tongue in cheek joking, as I'll do about any stereotype with truth behind it, particularly ones I fall into.)
