Total War with multiple personalities on PC Format is an interview with Mark Sutherns of Creative Assembly about Empire: Total War. Even though the strategy sequel is expected in US stores tomorrow, the conversation is about beta testing, as they plan a post-release multiplayer campaign which will begin testing soon, saying: "that’s the idea of running this as a beta so that we can refine what we have and introduce new ideas gradually with feedback from those who want this mode more than anyone – our community."

More trolling from Bluesfanboi... what a surprise. It seems this time you're confusing a release date with DRM, which is quite bizarre. Empire: Total War is a digitally distributed release but with physical distribution of the game files available for those that want it. Any confusion over release is due to the publisher and not Steam, as the game can be unlocked at whatever time they specify.

If you did you would pony up the extra $20 for the better units too...but no...you don't want to pay $70 for a Steam game....some gamer you are.

Over here it costs £35 ($50) for the version with bonus units. If US customers are being fleeced then that should be protested.
