Dark Horizon Announced

Paradox Interactive announces Dark Horizon, a space combat simulation planned for release in the third quarter of this year, encouragingly described with comparisons to Wing Commander and Freelancer. Here's the announcement, which lives up to the name of Paradox by being dated last week and saying that it "announced the release" of the game:

New York, USA (May 22, 2008) – Paradox Interactive today announced the release of Dark Horizon, a stark and atmospheric space combat simulation that aims to hurl its audience through an action-packed adventure, piloting its own ship through the perils that only space could have to offer.

"Dark Horizon follows along the same lines of classics like Wing Commander and Freelancer, and it will be a great addition to our portfolio this year," said Paradox Interactive Executive Vice President Fredrik Wester.

Dark Horizon is a plot-rich experience; 22 challenging missions, laced with special features such as full ship customization, original weapon creation, joystick support, and several modes of combat.

Dark Horizon is scheduled to ship worldwide during Q3, 2008. To learn more about this game or other Paradox releases, please visit http://www.paradoxplaza.com

@ The Advocate

I think it's cute how Derek is trying to cram the name of his incredibly underwhelming space "sim" in to every post.

And yes, I did buy the game...and it was incredibly underwhelming. X2 was better game, for Christ's sake.

Hey cretin, we're talking about space combat games. I'm a space combat game developer. Since your agenda is to continue posting the usual tripe and taking meaningless pot shots, I guess the joke's on you.

And anyone who has played GCES and X2 - and seeks to compare the two is either (a) a lying sonofabitch or (b) is on crack.

....because the only thing the two games have in common is the fact that they are both set in space.

That makes you sir, are a lying sonofabitch because you clearly haven't played my game. Q.E.D.

Game developers are just human beings who happen to make games for a living. If you want to hold us up to higher standards of conduct, then go ahead
...but don't be surprised if we don't uphold them
