Been a while since I regaled you with tales of the teeth, but I feel a little
behind the curve these past couple of says, so an explanation is in order (and,
of course, it's a doozy). I'm suffering in the aftermath of a little oral
surgery yesterday. After another flare up of the tooth I recently had
root-canalled, I got to enjoy the joys of a repeat root canal, which included
the removal of a crown post. As it turns out, there was the tip of a broken root
canal file still inside there (thanks Dr. Toothy!), which, despite efforts at
removal, ended up working its way up through the tip of the root and into my gum
(this was not apparently the source of my re-infection, but rather a bit of a
bonus). So yesterday I got to undergo an apicoectomy to remove it. I will not
describe this procedure for the unfamiliar in deference to those with weak
constitutions, but suffice it to say this was fairly unpleasant, and at the
moment I look like someone gave me a really solid punch to the cheek. I've also
been throwing up this morning from taking Vicodin yesterday… Rush Limbaugh
or some other expert needs to write a book on how to eat those things without it
upsetting one's stomach.
