Gears of War PC was announced by Microsoft at their E3 media briefing last
night, rolling out CliffyB to present the news to the press. PC gamers get the
welcome news that the game will include PC-specific content in the form of five
new single-player missions (which will support co-op) as well as a level editor.
Perhaps more welcome is the news that the game will run under Windows XP as well
as Windows Vista, confirming that Windows Live will not be Vista only. Epic also
announced support for Windows Live in Unreal 3, and that Sega, Eidos, and THQ
have all signed on to support the nascent multiplayer service. The (already
leaked) trailer showing off the PC edition of the game can be found on
ActionTrip.
