How can you have next gen gameplay in a FPS?

It's not a FPS, actually.. but my comment was basically to point out that I hope there's a little more to the gameplay than simply ducking behind bits of stone and shooting locusts as they come through doors/walls/the floor, etc..

I'm expecting a whole lot of that, to be sure, but I'm really hoping that Epic has kept all the truly good bits of the game well under wraps. The last video I watched left me feeling pretty skeptical about that though... as I mentioned, the dialogue alone made me want to chain-saw attack my own ears.
