This Press Release announces plans for ThreadSpace: Hyperbol, a commercial space-based action/strategy game set in a persistent universe based on Hyperbol, a two-time entry in the Independent Game Festival. The ThreadSpace: Hyperbol Website is live with info, screenshots, and teaser clips, and here's a bit from the announcement:

YORBA LINDA, California – July 10, 2006 – Iocaine Studios announced today their upcoming action-strategy game, ThreadSpace: Hyperbol. Set in the distant future, players will engage in highly tactical multiplayer combat as they control massive gunships capable of firing a large variety of projectiles. Hyperbol’s innovative gameplay, intense combat, and persistent universe will entice gamers spanning several genres.

“We took a look at a lot of the games out there and decided to make something different, but still maintain an addictive fun factor.” said Jason Fader, president and co-founder of Iocaine Studios. “The game has gone through some amazing changes since being an IGF finalist last year. ThreadSpace: Hyperbol pretty much feels like a polished sequel compared to the old version we presented there.”
