A recent editorial about BF2 complained that the voting system allowed jealous
players to boot someone from a server for playing too well. I'm not sure what
kind of servers (or crack) that author has been on, but I'm not sure I've ever
seen a successful kick vote for someone being a griefer, much less being too
successful. A simple problem with the voting system off the top of my head...
Why on earth should you need a majority vote from the whole server to kick
someone? I was on a team with someone who desperately needed kicking, only there
was no way for the other team to be aware of it. There were about 20 different
efforts launched to kick him, and they kept failing by garnering only
20-something of 40-something required votes. If more than 20 players of 32 on
your team want you kicked, that should be more than sufficient... why would that
require support from the other team (who may actually like the fact that your
side is stuck with the troublemaker)?

Hi, my name is LugNut(thats ttungul in bf2), and I'm a BF2 upset junkie too. It first started with BF1942, went to BFV, and I'm now totally insanely in love with the BF2 concept, but the result is something less than a miserable addiction to what could be stupidly fun, but is so far broken it reminds me of an old saying:
Great idea! -bad result.
Yes, clans will get the great idea part, but the target audience isnt a clan, and the majority isn't a clan, or in clans. They are normal folks like us in the form here wanting to play what would/could be a great game, but instead we all come to a general gaming site, to complain about one game in common. That means 2 things. 1. it's a great game that this general site speaks of one game. 2. the speaking is bitching. Oh, what am I thinking, I honestly can't say anything more intelligent than the rest of you have already said, cause your all right about it. I love this game, I hate them for releasing the same bugs they did twice before, and then putting out a patch that breaks it so much further, that the stupid voting system now works against you, ...sigh sigh sigh.(Red friendly's!)
Anyway, my BF2 name is ttungul, and I'm quite competent as a long time multiplayer gamer, and BF2 gamer, having figured it all out to a T. Note however, I will shoot friendly's, when you run in front of my fire, run over my mines, jump out of a moving vehicle(bug), etc, bug, etc. Keep in mind, I have a goal, and it's to rank up. Think how logical it is for me to kill friendly's on purpose if I am trying to rank UP.
Having given my disclaimer, I would appsolutely LOVE to have some cool cats from here to play with in this game, cause it sounds like alot of you understand the problem, and that is a great start right there.
Peace out...
