Valve Developer Community Launches

The Valve Developer Community is now online (thanks Shacknews), a home for those using the Source engine, whether it be to create a AAA game or a modification. Registration is required for the site, and its benefits include access to a WIKI knowledge base, discussion areas, and mailing lists.

to be honest I don't think the entire source engine as a whole has taken off very well...there's only 1 game that I can name off of the top of my head that uses the engine...and the mods themselves has basically been nonexistant...

personally I tried doing some level editing for it...but it just seemed very unfriendly and very time consuming...I've been using unrealed for 1-2 years now...very friendly and easy to use...and recently doom 3...the thing with source is the compile times...creating a box with a light doens't take too long...but the compile time makes creating a simple box a much longer process than any other engine I've used...
