DOOM 3 Requirements

Gamers, check under hood because Doom 3 is coming on the Houston Chronicle discusses system requirements for playing DOOM 3. In spite of Todd Hollenshead previously deferring to the expertise of the programmers for hardware info (story), these minimum requirements are apparently courtesy of id's CEO:

• A 1.5-gigahertz Intel Pentium 4 chip or AMD Athlon 1500.
• 384 megabytes of memory.
• Two gigabytes of hard drive space.
• An nVidia GeForce 3 graphics card or better; or an ATI Technologies 8500 or better.

Will it run on a box with Windows98SE or Windows Millenium? I looked for this a few days ago and found at least one site selling pre-orders and listing "Windows 98/ME/2k/XP" as the requirement. Can't find it now...
