Well lookie here! TechNews.com is the web-based version of an article in yesterday's Washington Post that discusses the impact of the gaming market (and vice versa) on Bawls Guarana, the official soft drink of the Blue Tower. I had a nice phone conversation with the article's author who proceeded to quote me a couple of times in there, and in addition to getting the quotes right, also managed to spell my name correctly and include the URL of this site, for which I am especially grateful. The neatest thing about the article (besides all that I just described) is the plan it describes for CompUSA to carry Bawls in their stores as part of a plan to court hardcore gamers. The plan is to test market selling the soda in a few markets, but should this click, it will be carried in all their stores, meaning there's a chance for me to find it at a retailer for the first time since originally discovering it at an obscure Italian grocery back in Brooklyn. Yeeha!
