Report: Dogs are smarter than people think (thanks Bodi Freeman) is a CNN Science article citing a university study supporting the idea that pups are brainier than most think (more on this is in New Scientist, thanks Anvil). I assume this means that the "most" in this case are not actually dog owners, I don't know many dog owners that would find this surprising. Actually, I don't know anyone who would find this part surprising: "Dogs usually use high-pitched single barks when they are separated from their owners and a lower, harsher superbark when strangers approach or the doorbell rings, according to Sophia Yin, an animal behaviorist at the university." Is this actually a revelation? Maybe I need to get in on some of the research study gravy train, I have loads of insights like that to share.
Betcha you thought I was going to write about you-know-who (woof)!
