The official unveiling of the next Tomb Raider title is planned for tomorrow, but GameSpot now serves up the first preview of Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness, as the sixth installment in Core Design's third-person action adventure series is called. The preview describes the new direction this game will be taking, as it "introduces a brand-new character, incorporates elements from the role-playing and adventure genres, and has an overall mood that's significantly darker than ever before." The article goes on to cover the three distinct parts to the game, the new character called Kurtis, what they can reveal of the main plot and the gameplay you can expect, the similarities and differences between the PC and PS2 platforms it will appear on, and more. Included are the first 15 screenshots and, of course, several Lara Croft images. A video interview with Core's Adrian Smith is also available.
