why do you think people set prices at 99 rather than 100? It's jive. Plenty of studies have shown people just round up anyway. It's why most restos don't bother with it anymore and just call it a round number instead.
However, it is fascinating how these thing gain traction. Remember stuff back in the day like the madness around trying to get Cabbage Patch Kids or Tickle Me Elmos at Xmas duing the height of their popularity? |
