Isn't that like saying "Win ME sucks for security" and calling it news in 2013?... Except that no one uses Win ME anymore, but UPnP devices are ubiquitous.
Rapid 7 has a tool you can download and scan your network for vulnerabilities. I know what you mean JD, but the same kind of people who would 'still use' Win Me or Explorer 6 or whatever are the ones who would not disable UPNP in their OS or router - the largest majority of PC users falls in this category, even if they have updated systems.
Most have no idea what UPNP is, how to disable it or otherwise, even if they did read Ars. Techs knew this for ages (well the good ones did anyway) |
