Origin's really not as bad as everyone seems to think. It isn't as good as Steam but it's not as utterly worthless as Uplay. It supports cloud saves, lets you specify your download and install directories, lets you save the installer files should you want to re-install games without re-downloading them, etc. In addition, unless a game explicitly requires Origin (basically all of EA's recent first-party titles), you only need to run Origin while installing it. After that, you can launch the game without Origin.
While I'd certainly prefer not to use Origin, it still has some benefits and the downsides aren't significant enough to justify boycotting the games that use it.
origin is so pathetic they still don't have a complete ME2, after 3 years. Not really sure what you're talking about. If you want to buy the ME2 DLC, you have to buy it directly from the Bioware site using Bioware points. This has always been the case, even before Origin existed. There is no version of ME2 that includes all the DLC. |
