Unfortunately, most people just surf the Internet, do some e-mail, and use a few specific tablet / phone apps... which will make the PC niche for consumers. That level of usage is great for tablets and phones though... and very convenient for travelling.
It's kinda funny though, my father just got a new laptop after getting an ipad less than a year ago because he got sick of trying to figure out how to do simple things like attach documents to email. The lack of a familiar local filesystem is surprisingly problematic for common users who are used to interacting with Windows machines. |
