DmC: Devil May Cry PC Differences

As noted on Capcom Unity the console editions of DmC: Devil May Cry are now available, offering this brawler based on the series. This is not completely well received, so those contemplating the PC edition that's due in a couple of week can look to IGN for a discussion of how the PC edition differs from the console versions, covering controls and visuals, offering comparison shots between low- and high-resolution graphics.

From what I've heard, this is pretty dumbed down compared to the previous games. Not only does it run at 30 FPS instead of 60 (on consoles) but the combat has been streamlined considerably and button-mashing is a viable way to beat most enemies.

As always, players who either didn't play or didn't enjoy the previous games will likely enjoy the new game for its increased accessibility and improved storytelling. Conversely, fans of the series will be disappointed by the dumbing down. This is pretty much what happens with every modern sequel/reboot. Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Tomb Raider, Hitman, Splinter Cell, Syndicate, Fallout... hardcore fans are no longer the target audience.
