New X-Motor Racing

A new version 1.42 of X-Motor Racing is now available, featuring various improvements for this indie racing simulation. As usual, an updated demo accompanies the new full version, and here is an outline of what's different since version 1.41:

  • Improved performance on high poly tracks
  • Added photo support to a game profile
  • Improved rendering code
  • Improved particles system
  • Separate settings for each cockpit camera
  • Changed default FOV

I downloaded the demo.

It's great for gearheads, but doesn't do basic things like allow Internet play (you play over a LAN).

I'm trying to setup controls using a gamepad (too lazy to setup my wheel), and the cars are very squirrely, even in arcade mode. If I ever can get the steering to work smoothly, I'll report back.
