Far Cry 3 Uplay Workaround

The reddit community has presented a workaround for problems users were having playing Far Cry 3, as the shooter sequel is now available in Europe, saying simply setting the game's Uplay mode to "offline" allows it to be played even with the servers unavailable. As detailed on Rock, Paper, Shotgun, many users were unable to play due to Uplay servers being offline, leading to accusations of more Ubisoft always-on DRM. In the meantime, Eurogamer notes that besides the workaround, Ubi tweets that the servers are back: "Dear #FarCry3PC players, thank you for your patience, our servers are back up & running. Have fun playing!"

It crashed during the 1.5 patch. Never crashed before that, never crashed after. I have always said exactly that. The comment below talked about crashing on day one, my answer was honest.

Haha no it wasn't, you said "I was not lying or exaggerating, I have never crashed, ever" which was is as dubious now as it was then. You did not say "I have never crashed ever except for that one time" until after I linked the post of you admitting to crash. People exaggerate (no crashes in 20 years of computing? puhleeze no one will ever buy that) and forget things they said so whatever, it's the internet and no one really cares but you were blaming peoples issues on their computers in that old thread so you got a bit of your own medicine.

The simple fact is I don't have this problem anywhere else. I speak my mind and never lie and am mostly respected and have good debates. Only here do people label me as things (shill, anti-steam, contrarian) and fail to actually read what I write. The fact that's interesting from a social perspective is the only reason I occasionally still post.

I think people read what you say just fine and it's more of an intent thing. You've admitted that you come onto the forums to post opposition stuff to argue, both here and on the GOG forums because you find the debate interesting. So sometimes it's hard to read the golly gee willikers ive never had a problem with my uplay type stuff as totally innocent. Speaking of which Uplay is even more half baked than Origin and has a user interface looks like a devs kid had a go at it.
