xXBatmanXx wrote on Nov 25, 2012, 14:03: fired up max payne 3 from the sale...too much story and interruptions.... That was my exact problem with it. I don't mind the story parts, but having control taken away from me every five seconds just to show Max walking through an empty hallway or something, got really really REALLY fucking annoying after just a few hours.
And then there are those segments where you're sitting in a bar, and you see four obvious thugs come waltzing in, and instead of giving you control at that point so you can choose to just immediately start blasting, or at least get to a better cover position, noooo, the game has the need to show you Houser's fabulous writing, so Max and the thugs trade some witless barbs, and THEN you get control. Right in front of two guys with sawed off fucking shotguns. I died on that spot at least six times before I finally, purely randomly, managed to shootdodge out of the way and at least got something done. It was fucking horseshit.
Note to developers: STOP TAKING CONTROL AWAY FROM ME, THE PLAYER. If you're that fucking desperate to tell your precious story, MAKE A FUCKING MOVIE.
