As dumb as this is, I can see this being pretty nice. There have been times when I've wanted to consult a guide via the web while in game but would have to make sure I got to a save point since it'd kick me out first.

I use the steam overlay's browser like that. Useful for looking up videos or googling if I get stuck (or making sure I'm going down the right path), w/o having to exit the game.
