They'd take all the Touch out of it. It would look and function EXACTLY like Dashboard looks now, only with brighter colors.

So I don't get your complaint. It couldn't really be any worse, could it?

They just take the Start screen functionality of Metro, add controller functionality and get rid of the desktop. Bam! Windows 8 720.
