Okay, yesterday was operation spin the bird, as I took my first stab at rotisserie cooking on the grill, and without wasting time on modesty, I have to declare the outcome an unqualified success, as the bird was spectacular. Actually, modesty doesn't enter into it, as the chicken did all the work, just as advertised. I brined the bird for a couple of hours, stuffed some garlic in the cavity and under the skin, added some salt and pepper and some herbs, and let him spin on the spit for a little under 90 minutes, so the chicken really cooked itself. The hardest part was getting it trussed, since I had never done that before, but it's a simple process that will get easier with practice. I could not be more excited at this new addition to the exports of Manstovia.
