More on these rumors here.
Right now it all sounds like spiteful rumors and hearsay. Anyone can claim anything - is any of the info on that link actually backed up by any evidence? All I see is the word of a disgruntled ex-employee - not the most unbiased of sources - and a screen comparison that was explained as a placeholder. Accusing someone of a $20,000 kickstarter scam without presenting any proof is pretty shitty. That's too big an accusation to take on faith.
EDIT: I remember this team now from Orion:Prelude, a free mod that at some point was supposed to go retail. I lost track of it after that was announced. I wonder if that was the supposed kickstarter scam? I'm not sure who to believe here, but I did find this:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/590373879/orion-prelude?ref=live Just from my own suspicions the guy does sound kind of scammy/douchey judging from his own bio: http://davidprassel.com/bio
I was checking it out because I read on the Kickstarter that he is claiming involvement in Counter-Strike, which I actually found harder to believe than him leading a team of 30 at 13 years old. But on his very similar bio on his own page he doesn't even mention CS. I suppose it could of been some small mod or even a map but I feel he's bragging about a whole lot of nothing in a way, misleading. |
