For the KQ collection... Do you need to use any emulators like DOSbox, or do they just run directly from Steam? They use dosbox, but it should do so invisibly since its all integrated. i.e. you click to run it from steam and it automagically runs the game without you having to setup anything or tweak anything. To you, it will be like any other game, you click and go and have fun. No need to even think about dosbox since you will never see it.
