You know, it's often said that "normal" prisoners will shank a pedophile on principle if they get the opportunity, the idea being even hardened convicts recognize the innocent nature of children shouldn't be tarnished.

While I don't know how true that is, I think this story lends some credence to it. I admire what this thief did, as he knew he'd get the hammer, and took his lumps to do the right thing (apparently he was also wanted for stealing cars). Here's to hoping he can turn his life around.
