Skyrim Day One Patch Plans; Another Bonus Race Revealed

Responding to questions about release/support plans for Friday's release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Bethesda Community Manager made a very short post to the NeoGAF forums about plans to patch the RPG sequel: "Yep. All platforms going to 1.1 by 11/11/11" (thanks Acleacius). Also, GameSpy has details on a second bonus race in the game if you want to see. Thanks GameFront via VG247. We're trying to help people avoid spoilers, so please avoid spilling any beans in our forums.

I have to agree here that Dead Island has the best melee combat i've seen in a first person title. I dont expect this kind of combat from new elder scrolls titles because of everything else they achieve, that being said though, each new elder scrolls game does move in the right direction with the combat system.

I really just hope the auto-leveled world never sees the light of day again in an elder scrolls game.
Dead Island is great, think I played about 6 hours over the weekend. Iirc, Arcane's Dark Messiah has better melee combat but it's 5 years old. I'm betting Dishonored will be even better.

They defiantly will mod the melee combat in Skyrim, did you see Deadly Reflex in Oblivion? Looks like Skyrim took many ideas from it, one of the, if not the most popular melee mod.

The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.
