Ah, in a welcome change, the humidity around here eased up yesterday. I'd say right now we're up to about eight or ten hours on the chip scale, which is very pleasant.

The Half Elf wrote on Aug 11, 2011, 17:15: BTW Hoop how is your neck of the world doing after all the earthquakes? The aftershocks in the last month are now infrequent thankfully. Keep in mind this all kicked off on September 4th 2010 & since then we've had 15000 aftershocks, & of course February 22nd. Our whole central city is completely closed off to the public with much of it being flattened, in fact we have only just got our business out of there to a new location in the last weeks 6 months on. They are talking 20 billion & 20 years to rebuild with flash new buildings & light rail everywhere. I've gotta tell you it's been bad not just the shakes but the incredible amount of liquifaction that pisses up from under ground, much of the roading is now sinking having lost so much underneath. Some people are still without sewers still going to the street to use portaloos, others are now being given the news their neighbourhoods are on irreparable ground so they have to leave with a cash payout & rebuild somewhere else. It's been bad but the city is really pulling together with much help from around the country, so the vibe is good & things are becoming more normal.
