Are you sure you're not just talking out of your ass here? Generally "doomed to fail at some point" is a phrase that sets an alarm off that someone is just making something up. Maybe you'll give me a citation for the study/article that argues this point about old sources dooming a dynamic encyclopedia with 3,703,177 English articles.
