Rambo Game Plans

MCV has word that development is underway on a game based on the Rambo series of violent veteran movies. Here's word on the project, which is coming from UK-based publisher Reef Entertainment:

“I am a big fan of Sylvester Stallone movies, and when we had the opportunity to secure the video game rights from StudioCanal for the Rambo franchise, we had to grab it with both hands,” said Reef Entertainment CEO Peter Rezon.

“With the success of the most recent Rambo film, and an international appetite for action movies with Expendables 2 scheduled for release next summer, we felt now was a good time to do something special with this licence.” Craig Lewis, commercial director at Reef added: “We have big ambitions for Reef and the Rambo IP is the first step in establishing us as a worldwide player.

“Rambo will be a triple-A title on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC and will capture the gritty atmosphere and full-on action which made the Rambo movies so successful.”

If you scroll down, you will see that that is not what I typed, it is a response(by someone else) to my first post in this thread. Incorrect Quoting, arrgh!

You're right. Sorry about that. My bad.

I keep hearing and reading it is a prequel, but look at that trailer. It appears to be almost shot for shot a remake/reboot... of course teasers/trailers are often misleading, I guess we will see.

Wasn't this thread about Rambo or something?

Here you are wrong. it REALLY is a prequel. You can find this information everywhere across the web, and even the director himself said this in interviews, and he should know. "The Thing" (2011) is about what happened in the Norwegian camp. They even cast some Norwegian actors for authenticity reasons.

Nevertheless, the plot is of course the same. The thing is found by the Norwegian (and few US) scientists, brought to their camp, and soon after all hell breaks loose.

From the official website for the movie http://www.thethingmovie.net/
"The Thing serves as a prelude to John Carpenter's classic 1982 film of the same name."

Ok?

About the Rambo game: this is the point to write "I guess we will see".

Consoles? I owned two: a Pong clone and an Atari 2600. And that's it.
