BRINK TV Countdown

Brink TV is counting down to a Tuesday launch in support of BRINK, Splash Damage's first-person shooter that will be released in North America on that day as well. This page outlines a couple of launch events. Word is: "With the founding team behind Quake Live TV and Games Cast TV at its helm, Brink TV is working to gather an experienced roster of top-tier broadcasters, competitive gaming advocates, and community leaders. With this team behind Brink TV, it hopes to produce the most entertaining and in-depth coverage of live Brink competition."

Given Splash Damage's history of developing, I think it's a PC game ported to the consoles for a change.

You'd be mistaken. It's very clearly designed for consoles. Just look at the UI. The special abilities menu takes the form of a D-Pad and in the tutorial videos, the narrator specifically says "Press the direction". Mouse and keyboard don't have D-Pads.

Sadly, having a history as a PC developer doesn't really mean anything these days. Most of the big console developers started off as PC developers. Bethesda, Epic, id, Infinity Ward, Bioware, etc. BRINK is Splash Damage's first game designed for consoles and I don't suspect they'll ever return to using PC as the lead platform.
