Portal 2 User Review Backlash

The reviews of the PC edition of Portal 2 on Metacritic reflect the unhappiness of some users with Valve's just-released puzzle sequel. While the game boasts a 95 score based on critics' scores, the user score has dropped to 7.3, as there are 101 negative reviews as of this writing, many of them giving the game a zero. GamesIndustry.biz (registration required) summarizes the situation:

The complaints appear to come primarily from PC users, upset that the game is a console port - and even includes references to turning off the 'console' when saving. Most anger, though, seems to be directed at the online store - which is already filled with downloadable content.

The volume of day one downloadable content seems to have come as a surprise to many PC users, unused to the console-style arrangement. They have also expressed disappointment at the game's short running time and the controversial ARG promotional campaign - which tempted players into buying unrelated indie titles.

I'm really happy with the purchase, I have portal 2 loaded on my PC and I can give my ps3 copy to my brother in law and he can play it on his ps3 and we can play it together! Plus I can trade it for a newer game in a month or so!
Pretty sure that valve designed the cross platform play so that a single copy of the game can't play co-op with itself on that copy vs the PC copy (I remember reading about this in articles about portal 2). I believe when you link the PS3 game to your PC steam account, it thereafter requires a different copy to co-op. Which incidentally will make it so used copies don't have the free PC copy, since it was linked to the original PS3, and linked to a steam account (steam accounts are non-transferable).
I am pretty sure you can create a new steam account on the PS3 version and use your own Steam account for the PC version. That way you can play the PS3 version of the same game against the PC.

I haven't tried that myself just an idea.
The PS3 version is linked to my existing PC steam account. I used the code in the package to install Portal 2 on my PC. The thing is, it doesn't require a code on the PS3 side of things, it just uses the system's PSN info. So unless they hid a key per PS3 disc on the disc itself, when you put the disc in a new PS3, it'll create a new account for that PS3's PSN account. You won't be able to use the PC code again (it's a one time code); the disc should be usable on other PS3s without issue (and each PS3 has it's own unique PSN account). The only thing you can't do is play with your PC and PS3 at the same time (since the PC's steam account gets associated with the PS3's PSN) but if you've got a 2nd PS3 (or a friend's,) you could use the disc in it.
