Crysis 2 Workarounds

The MyCrysis Forum points to a number of posts for users having specific problems with Crysis 2, Crytek's just-released first-person shooter sequel. This thread and this FAQ are for those having trouble entering their promotional code. This thread offers a workaround for those having trouble with Crysis 2 not remembering their multiplayer key or saying their key is in use, and this thread has another possible solution to the key in use error (a patch is in the works for this). This thread explains that EA is working on fixing a "temporary issue" preventing the game from saving players' multiplayer statistics and unlocks. Meanwhile, this thread explains why they removed auto-aim with their day one patch and this thread discusses a bug causing graphics flickering on multi-GPU systems, and this thread offers a possible solution for this for Crossfire configurations that involves renaming the game executable.

Anyone buying this game at full price for the multiplayer is taking a big risk considering Crytek's very poor track record of support for the previous Crysis games. This news story adds to that concern.

Far Cry - sucked multiplayer.
Crysis - sucked multiplayer.

Who buys Crytek games for multiplayer?
Supposedly it's quite good on consoles multiplayer, but the bar there is set by Halo, which most PC gamers deride, and MW2, which most PC gamers deride, so clearly standards are different.

I never expected good PC multiplayer from this.

Far Cry had great multiplayer... IF you played on a LAN. Otherwise it was so ridiculously laggy it was unplayable. Crysis Wars could have been OK, but it ended up taking them so long to make it playable that other games came out and eclipsed it. I quite liked the demo of Crysis 2 multiplayer, but since the release version doesn't want to let you into servers...
