3D DOOM Movie Reboot?

What’s Playing reports on a rumor they've encountered that Universal Studios is planning to reboot the DOOM movie franchise, following on the 2005 Dwayne Johnson vehicle based on id Software's beloved first-person shooter franchise. While this does offer a chance to make up for the miserably received original, it should be noted that the unconfirmed report indicates this DOOM remake would be in 3D, which is not generally cause for optimism. If they do make another Doom movie then they need to get their story straight. People mutating into monsters from a syrum derived from remains found on mars is just plain stupid. They need to stick with the original story of the portal into Hell then everything will work out just fine.
